Yesterday we went for the TaiFun island tour visiting beautiful islands of Koh Wai and Koh Mak. There is nice corals at the beachfront of Koh Wai, but unfortunately people do not respect the rules, they STEP ON THE CORALS, which make them DIE. You can clearly see the effects on this beach !
Today we are heading to Koh Chang Alina resort by the ferry from Laem Ngop.
Today we traveled to Thailand. The border crossing was very smooth and quick compared to the Vietnam-Cambodia crossing at Ha Tien/Xa Xia. Feeling is like being almost home as this is our sixth time in Thailand. Radical difference in the amount of trash on road sides, everything looks tidy and the transports work like clock. Decided to spent the night at Residang Guesthouse at Trat before going to Koh Chang. Really good service and information from the German owner.
We went to great boat trip which included snorkling and river walk at the jungle. The boat trip was organized by Suntours. The owner of company and leader of the trip was Robert Heiduczek, really energetic hotspot. We visited maybe the most beautiful white sand beach on earth at Koh Rung Samlem, see pictures.
Arrived yesterday to the Sihanouville by Minibus which was packed up with people. We counted 28 people, two rice sacks (4 tourists) and four backpacks. After settling down to a nice Reef resort we went look Serendipity beach. It seems that all the tourists in the Cambodia want to pack themselves to this narrow beach, not our place.....
Went by boat to Ha Tien and then by bus to Kep at Cambodia. Long waited "Holiday in Cambodia" is starting, to get the feeling listen "Holiday in Cambodia by Ded Kennedys". We stayed three nights at Jasmin Valley eco resort in the middle of the jungle. Really brain relaxing time, there was not very much to do than listen geckos & birds and walking in the jungle.
Went to Island tour to An Thoi islands, south of Phu Quoc. Good corals but the visibility only five meters, anyway anemone fish, some kind of frog fish and colorful coral ! Unfortunately a lot of trash also. Hartsa tasted some sea urchin, it was flavored by garlic, coconut milk and some "stuff", very good and lets hope the best for belly during next days...... Elisa had already some problems and skipped the culinary trial.
We made a special south Phu Quoc trip today. Visited pearl farm, An Thoi Harbor, Bai Sao Beach and pepper farming field. Bai Sao beach is the most fabulous beach here.
Tried to buy new sun protection because airport security took the old factor 10 bottle. The funny thing was that the Russian tourists had two 0.7 liter Vodka bottles at the airplane which they started to dump to their throats at the other side of the aisle in the flight from Saigon to Phu Quoc. And my factor 10 sun lotion was more dangerous !
